OST/Mormon Road Tour
Old Spanish Trail/Mormon Wagon Road through the Mojave
This photo tour takes us from the most extreme northeastern part just outside of the Mojave in southeastern Utah at Mountain Meadows across the desert from one salty waterhole to another salty waterhole and tepid river to tepid river until the Cajon Summit is reached and the complicated and troublesome descent is made through the pass into southern California.
The trip has been divided into three segments; the first is from Mountain Meadows then south to the Virgin River to Las Vegas. Then west to part 2; over the ridge at Mountain Springs and into the Amargosa Desert, Resting Springs, the Amargosa River, Salt Springs then west. Third, is the last part of the trail from Bitter Springs to the Mojave River following it to the crossing northwest of the rocky rover narrows, to the edge of the desert and down and out of the desert to complete the journey.
