Cajon Pass
Hill 582Hill 582 is located in the upper Cajon Pass approximately two miles below Summit at an elevation of 3621 feet. is located in the San Bernardino National Forest, accessible to the public on land managed by the United States Forest Service (USFS). Hill 582 is popular among railroad photographers as it has commanding views of railroad tracks in all directions. The Hill is also a shady rest spot for OHV enthusiasts and various wanderers and explorers that frequent this part of the Cajon Pass. Hill 582 is also a great spot for bird-watching. A wide variety of birds are attracted to the Hill and come to rest and search for food in the trees and cactus growing there. During the day ground squirrels are common, and an abundance of nocturnal rats and mice attract several varieties of snakes including rattlesnakes |
